Came here Saturday afternoon for a filling and good lunch and a line was already forming haha. I got the Gotham smash double burger and it was pretty juicy, crispy and perfect. The tator tots were salty but yet had the crunch on the dot. Definitely a spot to go out on a date night, hanging with friends and just having a good time. I would come here again for the not bad price.

Considered one of the best smash burgers in the city, so I had to try it. Got the cheeseburger ($9) and liked it. Probably the 3rd best smash burger in the city. Thin patty with American cheese, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and club sauce. I liked the taste of the beef and the bun. The bun was griddle pressed. I couldn't taste the club sauce because the ketchup and mustard overpowered it. I also tried the "chopped cheese" tater tots, which were just taters tots with chopped tomato, jalapeno, and sauce. Incredible smash burger. Lives up to the hype and definitely one of the best places to get a smash burger in the city

Delivers on the incredibly high hype. - basically just a perfect smash burger done well with attention paid to all the fine details including the grill on the onions, the amount of sauce, and the bun toasting level - cool vibe inside that is kinda southwestern - in and out in 30 mins or less which is nice - lines on weekdays are pretty minimal so you can bank on walking right in - fries are basically McDonald's fries but elevated to the highest possible level Great spot

For some reason I am ALWAYS craving a burger when I visit New York. I have to agree with some of the other reviews that this could be the best burger in NYC. I'm a sucker for a smash burger, especially when it's on a Martin's bun. My friend and I popped into Gotham on a Friday at noon. The place was packed! Not a place to sit down and eat in sight. We decided to risk it and order our food to stay. Luckily, a family finished their meal and my friend went to hold down the fort while I put our orders in. I will say that it is not cheap. Two burgers, two drinks, and an order of fries was over $50. However, I will happily pay that amount of money again and again because the food was worth it. I left full and excited to come back for more!!!

I believe, unbeknownst to most New Yorkers right now, that there is an all out civil war in the city, for the best smash burgers. There are sooo many contenders for the best smash burger it's hard to keep up and the list just keeps growing, but right now, Gotham Social Club has got a really, really great one. The differences are slight but the Beastie Boy - Three Patty Monster, is definitely one to write home about. Three smashed with tons of oniony, salty, pepper flavor is what a great smash burger should be about. Gotham Social Club has got a really great contender for the top prize.
